I am having the same issue. I had created one map and started on another, and it started doing this on the 2nd map. Only it wasn’t just when I zoomed out; it was when I walked a certain distance. And it’s not just props not appearing - I can’t change the editing options, and when I try to click on the 3 dots to look at all the map options (so I can see how much memory I’m using, the drop-down kind of opens behind the menu window so I can’t click anything. (I would add a screen shot, but see below.) Went back to my first map - same thing happened. I emailed hello@gimkit.com late Thursday night (well, technically early Friday morning, lol). Out of curiosity, tried creating a 3rd map, and it started doing the same thing after a while. Wondering if my account is using too much memory? But the memory limit is by map, isn’t it? Really hope I can at least salvage my first map - I put a lot of work into it, and it was supposed to be a present for my nieces and nephew.
Well, I just signed up for this account so I could post this, and I got done typing all that and tried to get into one of my maps to get a screen shot of the Map Options glitch. And now suddenly nothing’s even loading. Maybe this is a sign the Gimkit gurus are working on a fix in the background? I really hope that’s it.
you guys think thats bad..myn does this whenever i load in right away… and this map has TONS OF code, mechanics, complicated triggers with properties and counters and animations and detailed map, lots of complex stuff lol..hope it gets fixed if i lose this map im not remaking it its too difficult
Update: I just tried opening one of my maps on my phone instead of my laptop, and it works fine on there. So whatever this issue is, it seems to be related to the device you’re using.
I’ve found that the bug seems to be activated when I have too many props in my current view. So if I zoom all the way in, I’m able to move around and edit and everything works fine, unless I have a lot of props in that area. For example, I have an autumn scene with a lot of leaves and leaf piles, and as soon as I go there, snap, the bug happens, even when I’m zoomed in to the max. And the zooming fix only works for editing, not when you’re playing the game. Also, the issue doesn’t seem to be related to map memory - my biggest map is only at 34%.
Sorry, guys, I haven’t been online much lately, so I will mark a solution. About the bug, maybe if you zoom out a little—close but not too close—it won’t do the bug. Its kinda like zooming out all the way though.
