Okay so here’s what we have
wait thats what we should try doing. Changing the sentries colors rather than the players! THATS GENIUS!!!
Crazy.
Dont flag too much, or else we get closed.
AHHHHHH!
We could just wait till tmrw, maybe take this as a quick break.
This topic is temporarily closed for at least 4 hours due to a large number of community flags.
Oh, yeah, I kinda forgot about this!
Theres scarflet, custom coaster, huebert, and crimson cruz. There might be some I missed. If so, mb
I just found out how to change the sentries on accident!
Its quite simple, actually:
Have the sentry not be active on game start, and be activated on a triggers trigger. Have your main activate it, then, enter the server with another account. This, makes the sentry turn into whatever color you were!
this could be good for a system that shows your ST avatar in front of you on a podium WITH YOUR COLOR
But that would require someone to enter the game with that color each time the game ends, which is, basically impossible. Getting their gim alone is too. Now I didnt check if the sentry color saves, but if it does, that could be good.
The players color switch saves, but the sentry’s does not. Odd. One thing I am going to test in a little is if deactivating it then joining keeps it the same to switch the other players to the sentrys color that was saved.
Before that, heres what we know so far.
1.) Each color of each gim has the same file name, hence the color switching.
2.) Sentries colors can be changed, but only using this bug.
3.) There is a chance that we could save sentry colors, though I highly doubt it.
(If anyone has ideas/suggestions feel free to help us do research on this bug.)
Another quick edit since no more than 3 consecutive replies AH!
Quite a few new discoveries, and a new bug.

I joined as orange, but became red? My theory is that the game, when you respawn, remembers that you’re meant to be orange, and tints it, and makes it orange, since you have i-frames, but also makes it red, since its tinted, but when you lose i-frames, it sorta forgets. Make sense? Its pretty confusing.
When I ended the game, I dunno what my main did, but somehow, I got -1 points.

The effects can take place before the game starts, but only on players.
Thats the new things I found.
Also happens in official gamemodes, but in an odd way:

Late 2 joined yellow, but was green on his p.o.v

Cjiskewl joined green, but was yellow on his p.o.v, and so was late 2
Late joiner (the one above) was also green, but turned yellow, and so did the crimson cruz character, so something about the official gamemodes changes the way the bug works. I dont know what caused this yet, but I will attempt to find out.
This bug happened because the color of the character device that is of a custom gim is based of the player who’s client joined the most recently because the code loads the players Gim customizations for all the characters/sentries with customizations.
So for Gimkit, this will probably be an moderate bug to fix, so just be patient, but, until it gets patched, be curious and see how close we are to forcing the player to have a certain Gim, as @Gimkitsuggestor said.
In short terms, this may take a while to fix.
We do not want it patched bud we’re researching plus it’s a lot more than what your saying
I know. I’m just saying Gimkit will unfortunately most likely patch this. ![]()
Eh they probably won’t it’s not that bad of a bug and this may be hard to get rid of
