Thats basically the idea of the sheds just that these include random stuff you can find.

You could add crafting recipes from loot, since just using the loot is too fast instead of taking time and its a survival game

Maybe for tasks you can investigate the outbreak spread. For example, finding clues (e.g., abandoned medical supplies, hastily made barricades, scattered personal effects) that show how the parasite overwhelmed the villagers.
