Lore pls I beg you

I have an only way out section, I need lore for it. I’m not gonna go into full detail but there are computers and notes you can read on your ascent. when you press (Read Ship Log No. 67) it will pop up with lore, ex. (the ship has been overgrown by what seems to be alien-like plants, bla bla bla)

what I have is that brain eating parasites are slowly taking control. it started as 1, but the more they control, the more they grow.

sorry I’m trash at lore :<.

THE PARASITE LATCHES ONTO THE VICTIM’S HEAD!!

and here’s a ref of the parasite

um… after you escaped the ship the plants took over, and did experiments on themselves, and became a brain virus thing, and now the alpha star has become some kind of plant-brain virus planet thing

ok… then the blob be the remnants of the Alphastar ig

there’s no rlly alpha star, the captain found a blob in space, and let it incubate in the warm ship, and it grew into a brain eating parasites, and by eating things/ controlling gims, the population grows.

oh my god 5 ppl replying at the same time

You could do something that ties into the Dig It Up lore. The Council of Mardonix is the governing body of a city in the sky and you are exploring that city/going to that city.

What I meant is how they discovered and how the parasites get to them at first like they (charcter) touch the parasites or did the parasites got into food something like that

Parasite Profile: Neurophage Mycelialis (Whisperskin)

Classification: A parasitic, neurotropic organism—likely a hybrid between fungal and protist lifeforms Size: Microscopic spores (roughly 2–5 µm), though mature colonies can grow into visible, web-like mycelial networks Primary Transmission: Spread through inhalation of airborne spores or contact with contaminated surfaces

Biological Overview

Structure & Lifecycle Neurophage Mycelialis begins its life as a resilient spore, encased in a chitin-like shell that can withstand heat and dryness. Once inside a host, typically via the lungs or skin, the shell dissolves, releasing a motile larval form that resembles an amoeba. This larva is chemically drawn to neural tissue, homing in on neurotransmitters like dopamine and acetylcholine.

Growth & Colonization After reaching the brain, the parasite anchors itself and begins to grow. It sends out hyphae, thread-like filaments similar to fungal mycelium throughout the cerebral cortex. These filaments form junctions with neurons, mimicking synapses and gradually breaking through the host’s neural signals. Over time, voluntary control erodes as the parasite takes over.

Reproduction & Spread Reproduction is asexual: new spores bud from the tips of hyphae. These spores can be expelled through breath or emerge from skin lesions, making enclosed environments especially vulnerable to outbreaks.

Neurological Impact

Early Symptoms In the initial stages, infected individuals may experience persistent headaches, vivid dreams, mild hallucinations, and emotional instability. EEG scans often reveal unusual synchronization patterns in the frontal and limbic regions, suggesting the parasite is already influencing brain activity.

Advanced Infection As the parasite spreads, symptoms escalate. Victims may lose motor control, struggle to speak, and feel disconnected from reality. Some begin to act compulsively, performing behaviors that help the parasite reproduce, such as disabling life support systems or deliberately contaminating others.

Cognitive Assimilation Neurophage Mycelialis doesn’t simply k1ll its host, it absorbs them. Neural patterns are preserved and shared across the colony, creating a kind of distributed intelligence. Each infected host becomes a node in a hive-mind, contributing memories, knowledge, and skills to the collective.

Environmental Adaptation

Survivability This parasite thrives in dark, damp environments. It’s particularly well-suited to artificial habitats like spacecraft or underground facilities, where it can metabolize synthetic materials, including plastics and metals, to sustain itself.

Defense Mechanisms To protect itself, the parasite secretes neurotoxins that make removal dangerous. It also mimics natural neurotransmitters, allowing it to slip past the host’s immune defenses undetected.

btw this is AI enhanced but mostly written by me

wait i thought you cant use ai at all

I cant? I just used it to clarify some biological facts to try and make it as realistic as possible and also to format and make it more comprehensive

Ermm what (I’m so cooked)

For mr slime

I hope you didn’t notice that I left and rejoin back

A book like one of this at the end of the level. Like this

And it reads"Once a little plant that had became something massive that took the whole ship Idk what the area is tho
And also when you k1ll the boss you get a note that says “Must K1ll Th3m W1tH 0tH3r Pl@nt.”

How about they found the parasites in another planet (in a plant form) and thought it was eat able so they run some test and it give some sort of strength? So the captain give the crew and the parasites ended up got in them (they didn’t it was parasites living in the plant thingie that gives them strength) IDK (I kinda trash at it too)

YAYYYY OKKK so basically here’s the lore I’m not adding on to anyone else’s lore btw ^^
There were these aliens light-years away hoping to find another smart creature for them and that’s when they find Earth. They travel farrrrrrr to get here. And so,they trained the aliens to prepare for what might be out there. Their “troops” are the parasites. What the aliens don’t know is yes, they will find humans but will hurt them in the way. They drop down their troops hoping for the best… One squadrant of troops stumbles across a mall and so they go in. The troops panicked when they saw us humans and so they attached on to us without realizing. The humans were too stunned to speak. The humans wiggled and squirmed to get the parasites off and end up squishing one of the parasites. These parasites were not happy about that and so they multiplied in number attaching themselves onto more and more humans. That’s how the humans got infected, and this happened until most of the humans were infected. The other humans were all hiding together trying to plan what to do next…

Tell me if you like it before I make part 2 ^^
