for context I have 2 text devices made with emojis put on top of each other since they both do 2 different things but I need a way to have parts of the bottom emojis visible without morphing the top layer of emojis

Uh I don’t think so. But use this invisible character instead maybe? Right here [ ] in between the brackets.
