Is there a way to make Pseudo systems like Super Smash Bros?

My game Smackdown is sorta like Super Smash Bros, but you play as gims and SOME custom characters, I want it to have the same mechanics like a multi jump so when you fall off the arena you can try to make it back, and the multi-life system where you only have 3 lives and the fighting and other mechanics, plz tell me if there are any post that can help

The fighting should just be like a normal platformer fight, not sure about the other aspects

How much do you want it to be like Smash Bros.?

The recovery part might be difficult, but the three lives system has been known for years.

I want it to be a lot like Super Smash Bros so I can kinda get a lot of recognition

also originality so people won’t say it’s like Super Battle Bros

Alright.
Knockback is already part of the fragility system, so that isn’t bad.
DI and SDI are out of the question.
Rapid melee attacks are also out, unless you could get the Pickaxe to work.
You could probably get a recovery to work by putting down a block under the player/ teleport them to ledge.
Speaking of ledge, there’s a few different ways to represent that. You might want to give it some thought.
Special moves could be buttons as Game Overlays.
I would not try grabs, and therefore throws or even Shielding, just due to needing a coordinate system. Recoveries only get a pass because playing Smash without one sucks.
I would also try to come up with a special thing that sets your game apart. Maybe a secondary scoring mechanic?
If you need anything else, just ask?

maybe I can make it with different gadgets for the different characters?

If you want a different gadget for each character, a pretty simple way is to create a selection system via buttons or a pop-up allowing the player to choose. When the pop-up or button is pressed make it transmit a channel to the item granters. This way each character can have different item granters that give different gadgets and consumables.

Use counters that start at 3 and have a target of 0. Activate that and a knockout manager whenever someone joins the arena. Make sure to set the availability for both of them to player. This way, when that player is knocked out, they will respawn, but reduce the counter by 1. To do this, set a channel for the knockout manager that will decrease the counter. Pretty easy. When the counter reaches its target (0), it will switch them to team spectator using a team switcher.

the lives would be the easy part:
have lives be a random item and everytime they respawn they get one of the items lost then when they have 0 lives make them turn to spectartor (or spawn in a room with no gadgets or anything)

eh, it’s alright, the only bad thing is I’m just focusing on mechanics and not the look of the map… And I have no idea how to make the systems people told me to do because I’m not the best coder really and that’s about that
