Is there a way to make gims invisible?

No, not really, but you could put a player behind a barrier or prop. Invisabits were confirmed to not come to GKC.

I considered using the team switcher to switch them to spectators, but they just di/ed.

Nope, unfortunately…
The best you can do is make the other players unable to see the invisible player.

Unfortunately I do not think that you can.

No there is no way to do that unless you make them teleport somewhere while their invisible and them go back when it’s done
