So, I literally just posted, but I wanna make a pinball game and I want the camera to follow the pinball (blastball), so I need ideas of how to do this.
I believe this would require an absurd amount of camera point devices.
huh.
I can try…
Basically have a tracker on the pinball and
the tracker would turn on the nearest camera point
Is the tracker a device?
Uhh
It’s been a hot minute since i’ve been on GKC
I believe it’s in the settings
The camera point settings?
Or a waypoint device that tracks the ball.
No in the ball settings.
maybe u could use a player coordinates device as well
Let me pop up GKC real quick.
how would it be possible? the ball is controlled by gravity, but there’s no way to spawn blastballs in platformer, how would you do this?
You cannot move the player camera to follow something other than the player. (Besides fixed camera points)
It would require a huge amount of math to find the trajectory of the ball, and you need a grid of pre-set ball(s).
that’s what I was thinking as well.
So it could work or not but will require a huge amount of time and planning
like what @SlimExtraterrestrial said
it would be easier if Blastballs were added to platformer, but for now we must do without them. Honestly I don’t think this is possible yet, because in real life the ball comes down due to gravity, but there’s no gravity in top-down. Also if a ball bounced off of a wall, it wouldn’t make an arc and keep going down, it would just start rolling in the opposite direction, which is not very Pinball-y.
Why do I feel like I phrased that weird :\
