Hello forumers! I’m here requesting ideas for my game. Have you ever played The Ascent of Mt. Snowy? If not, I strongly suggest you play it. It’s a great game. If you have, then you know what I’m talking about. This game is what I think is the aftermath of the player falling into ‘the void’. They fall and fall and fall until they hit the ground. But they don’t respawn. Instead, they crash through the ground and fall into a twisting system of caves that lie underneath Mt. Snowy. They talk to an NPC named Doug who lives here. Doug helps them through the cave and its challenges. At the end, they meet Blizzy, a gigantic very angry ice dragon that has captured a climber. You have to fight him and stuff. For now, I have one idea for a summit. The one at the end where there’s a boss battle. And a sketchy idea of the first summit. I need summit ideas, what’s in them, stuff to add to the dragon boss battle, and any ideas you have. Thank you!
Accepted Ideas and Summit Slots
Summit One: Crystal Caves
Summit Two:
Just a bunch of ruins. Probably not gonna call it ‘Wrocky Wreck’, maybe Chilly Ruins? (Also, I have no idea where this should go, either summit 3 or 4)
Summit Three: WIP
Summit 4: WIP
Summit 5: Blizzy’s Lair
I thought Blizzy was a he. (No offense) Also, I plan to name the summits ‘chapters’ like in the game. Also, I made this an Art topic because I’ll also be asking for art. Speaking of art, a map like this will take up a lot of terrain tiles, so any creative ideas to save terrain? I plan on replacing most of the platforms with some cool looking ones made from props. @Coolcaden26, could you tell me what your summits are like?
A few things. First, thanks for playing it and liking it so much you wanted to make a sequel! It means a lot! Second, Blizzy is a she (she’s literally the same Blizzy from the forums) and was attacked by someone. If she captured somebody, I recommend integrating it so that it also makes sense with the attack. Finally, I can’t wait to play this, but know that eventually, there will be a sequel to the game. It won’t be a direct sequel, but it will take place in the same universe afterwords. Thank you again!
Oh, as for the final boss fight, we originally intended it to be a dialog tree of sorts, where your main goal is to convince Blizzy to follow you back to her house. A normal fight could work before, during or in place of the dialogue if you really want it, but animating that would take serious talent.
If you are doing the cave theme, I recommend to mostly use barriers and props, only using terrain to signify an ancient civilization that was buried, if you will have one.
Wow wow wow it’s @ClicClac! Like, the guy who helped make Ascent of Mt. Snowy! Thanks for the feedback! Sorry about thinking that Blizzy was a he. I’ll correct that. For the dialogue tree fight, I can make it so that if the player fails to convince Blizzy to come back, she fights the player. Also, who was Blizzy attacked by? Maybe they could be the final boss instead of her.
You’ve reached a schism in the ground below you. Luckily, there’s an old wooden bridge to cross. You cross safely, but Doug… doesn’t.
You then have to go down the schism and find Doug, before snow starts storming down and you have to find a different way back out of the mountain to reach the next summit.
Just a small idea, feel free to tweak or disregard it to your liking.
I’m adding the starting parkour, but i feel like it’s a little boring. Any ideas to spice it up? Make it feel like a high quality map like Mt. Snowy.

None of the jumps are really challenging. They’re all spread apart. Unless this is underground (atmosphere can sell well), I recommend to shrink the amount of space you’re using, vary the type of jump, and just keep it interesting.
