To verify that the gimkit account is indeed LSPLASH, I emailed him some instructions for his gimkit account. If verified, than we will know that they are indeed the original creator of Doors.
I seriously doubt that the actual LSPLASH has a Gimkit account here. As for feedback on your game, well, it’s exactly like 99% of games in discovery, bad. No offense, but the terrain and prop placement is ugly and the gameplay is boring. In fact, I actually stopped playing 30s in. Honestly, idk how it got on “trending”. What you could do to make it better is actually put effort into it. Research, come up with some creative ideas, create unique mechanics to enhance your gameplay. Overall, put effort into your map. That’s all I have to say.
Yeah, okay. I admit playing the game felt rushed. I’ll make sure to play through the entirety of it first and improve my feedback.
- I also doubt it, but hey, you never know. If LSPLASH Inc. replies to my email and follows the instructions, then we know the account is authentic.
- I would like to know what props you are talking about, as my map doesn’t use props outside of two rooms.
- While I appreciate the feedback, “Put effort into it” is very broad and general. I did do research, I did come up with creative ideas, and I did create uniques mechanics. I did put a good deal of effort and thought into my game. Specific feedback would be helpful.
Overall, While I appreciate you taking the time to actually play the beginning of my game and coming back to tell me about it, It would be more helpful to me making my game better if one were to play the entirety of my game and give me specific places of my game were and how I could improve it.
can we see some screenshots of the map?
I wanna actually see the effort
You should invest in the season pass (add more variety to them bookshelves)
*Correction: Any props I use outside of the two rooms are the “gray stone wall” props.
Currently I am hundreds of dollars (US) in debt (to my parents) because I broke a really expensive glass table top. And before that I was hundreds of dollars in debt because I broke a MacBook Pro. So unfortunately that is not an option I can currently afford
five usd… ![]()
lmao why do you break so many things
Besides, even thought the season pass would be nice, my game works without it. Also, if the bookshelves are all the same, it could be easier to get lost, which is good for a maze.
that looks like a stony castle,
not saying that its bad, but where’s the hotel?
I didn’t use any season ticket items to make this!
Just a little barrier a text art for the rug, walls, and eyes!
Remember to avoid any terrain, props, and sentry skins that do not fit with doors
stuff like the pink plant sentries or the glass cups just look, weird.
Another thing, your map is very empty
it’s not supposed to be big rooms, but a bunch of halls!
Last thing, stop breaking stuff.
First off, Gameplay is terrible. Making a giant maze is not good gameplay. Also, what was the point of the crouch feature? The sentry still spawned regardless of if I crouched. Overall, bad game design. Also maybe use channels, its like wires but better. Like Commander Goat said the game felt really rushed in my opinion. The rooms are bland, the only good element was the combination lock but even that was easy and not very well designed. Like all the buttons still say “Interact”.
If you want to make it better, step 1 is to not use props as walls, use channels, and add layers (ONIONS HAVE LAYERS).
Lastly, it did not feel like doors at all in any way except the library part. But even that was just a glorified maze.
- Nice catch! I’ll make sure to update the terrain and props, to hopefully make it look like a haunted hotel.
- Wow, that looks great! Nice job making the Hotel!

- The pink plant sentry is the closest I could find to make figure, let me know if you find a better one. I do plan on replacing the glass cups, as soon as I do more research on the Greenhouse and what it looks like.
- As its a breakout room, I think that using rooms is unavoidable, but I’ll try to add more background props to add to the experience.
- I’ll try to XD
Thank you so much for the feedback!
- The sentry isn’t supposed to spawn if you’re in crouch. That was a problem for a while, but I thought I fixed it. I will double check all my sentries to make sure that they don’t spawn when crouching past.
- I’ve never used channels before, maybe using them will make my game more streamlined. I’ll make sure to test it out.
- Its interesting that you and Commander GOAT feel like the game was rushed, I don’t think my game was rushed unless most gimkit discovery games take more than 5 months to make.
- I’m glad you enjoyed the combination lock, I’ll try to think of something for the buttons to say other than “interact”
- When I revamp it to look like the Hotel, I’ll probably replace the prop walls with terrain wall.
- Not quite sure what you mean by “layers”…
- Again, I’ll revamp it too look like the Hotel.
Thank you so much for playing my game and coming here to give me feedback, I really appreciate it!
If you are placing terrain in the bottom left corner you will see a button that says “layer 3” if you click it you can choose what layer to put it on. This is so you can make detailed terrain that doesn’t mix together.
I think the game feels rushed because the rooms were not decorated and you used props as walls which in my opinion looks really ugly unless you spend forever lining them up so they don’t stick out. For the combination lock maybe make it a keypad? (Like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9).
But Overall… I guess your game is fine… I mean its on trending, if that was your goal then yea. If your goal was to make the best game you possibly could… needs improvement.
- I did put most of the terrain on different layers, but I guess one just can’t tell
- The rooms were not decorated because it just never crossed my mind to use props as decoration XD. I’ll add more props in my big decoration revamp.
- I use the six buttons because it makes it easier for the player to solve the puzzle than if it was a keypad (8 possible combinations vs 32 possible combinations). I do really like the idea of a keypad though, so I think I’ll use it either in this game somewhere, or in a Mines map.
Thank you for the clarification and feedback!
In my opinion, I would use black barriers instead of dark stone bricks (less memory wasted and looks better
Try using channels. To put multiple channels in a device do this:
[Insert channel 1 here],[Insert channel 2 here]
Just make sure there are no spaces between the two channels. This will save you a lot of memory.
