Ideas for School Story

Morning forumers! I’m going to be creating a new game. It’s a mystery/horror game where you play as a detective named Baka. You have to solve a case about a school abandoned twenty years ago. You walk around the school and find clues in the form of papers and notebooks. You soon find out the school was invaded by a shady group of Shadeborn gims who are going to be the final battle in the game. I need room ideas, their design, and some level ideas. For example, I have an idea for an acid puzzle level and a blastball level.

Molten Pits
You have to traverse an obby above lava to get another clue about the Shadeborn’s mysterious appearance in the abandoned school.

Edit: probably just a classroom with a giant pit in the middle filled with lava

There could be a room full of lockers that you have to traverse around.

The school has been abandoned. There’s no one there. (Except for the ghost of a student at the school)

Add some black barriers with opacity level 50!

Okay! What’s the clue though? Is it a paper? À notebook? Or something else?

Flickering lights in random rooms. Sometimes the enemies show up for a second, then the lights flicker, and they’re gone. That would be a little sus.

LOOOORRRREEEE TIME!!!
Twenty years ago, all the people inside Gimtopia Middle School disappeared, students and teachers alike. A police squad was sent into the building, but never emerged, and the building has since fallen into disrepair and access has been restricted. A now elderly parent, Freya, has hired you to discover what happened to her son, Orehound, a young boy who had enjoyed engineering and loved reading myths. You enter by cover of nightfall to avoid police detection. Though your initial investigation of the office and classrooms near the entry proves fruitless, upon entering the cafteteria you take a blow to the head from behind a door. When you wake, you discover a group of shrouded figures who refer to themselves as the Shadeborn, and reveal that they were once the faculty who, led by the Principal (Broker Gim), sacrificed the children in exchange for immortality, but the ritual backfired, causing them to be bound to the school. You are then left in the freezer to oof, but open a vent and flee to the janitor’s closet. What follows is a panicked flight through the halls as you attempt to escape out into the night.

That is a lot of lore, anyways, there could be a library full of enemies, and you either have to take them all down, or sneak around them.

Vault Room

A vault at the end, and you have to find clues around the room.

Aquarium
A kewl aquarium room, where you have to swim through, and if you are underwater for too long, you take damage.
There should be pockets of air where you can recharge at, but once you touch a pocket of air, you get some extra oxygen, and the bubble disappears, forcing you to continuesly run.

Journal 3 hidden away somewhere

You could hide in lockers.

Umm add random jumpscares for a haunted school

That gave me an idea, there could be entities that jump scare you if they get you, it just needs some animating.

Um :neutral_face:. I don’t really want jump scares. It’s more of a mystery game than a horror game.

This place is a school. There aren’t exactly aquariums in schools.

Alright, you could put in some guys that don’t jump scare, just attack you.
