Use two overlays: one indicating how many feet up and the other how many feet down, with props mixed into a submarine, and copy all those props, for as many feet you want, but make he rest invisible, then a counter to show the direction and distance to move the visible prop.

i’d rather this be the solution since if people are reading through this with a related question, this might work for them
