maybe you could make a fake reality where you slowly find out it is false, so you escape

because I want to create a welcoming NPC that you can fight
and the npc has the key to escape
this is all I’ve got so far
You could place a button in the npc, attach a device to generate text to the button, and have the user be teleported to an arena with an identical but hostile sentry if the player clicks the text option to fight the NPC.

AI has taken over the universe 
Why is that not surprising… 
and you are left, defenseless. When you go to bed, you can’t help but sleep with one eye open. They are everywhere. But, why are you falling asleep so fast…
You wake up in a room, blank and glitchy. You totally expected this, as your friends have gone through the same thing. “Don’t be scared,” you told yourself. An NPC enters the room. “[Your name], yes? You are needed for the transformation.” Says the robot. “Uhm, excuse me?” You reply. “Is there a problem with that? Just look at your friends,” The clever robot says. You see your friends walk into the room, but they look different…like…robots? “Huh? WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM?” You say, more angry than you were when your dog took the last slice of pizza. “They are one of us now,” It says. “And soon, you will become one of us.”
How will you fight back? Will you manage to escape…even if it means fighting your friends?
