How to make the Bigfootian Role System (B.R.S)

What’s up everyone, I’m back. It’s been 4 months since I have last been on here, so I thought I’d make a guide to show everyone that I haven’t left or who knows what. With that being said, let’s get into it.

You might be wondering what this is about. This is about a role system for RPGs, or any character-based games where you need to choose a role, and you get those abilities. (Note that if you want one where no two players can choose the same role, then I have no idea as of yet.)

=======Materials Needed:========
-At least 2 Popups*
-6 Item Granters*
-1 Lifecycle
*I have 6 item granters because normally, you want at least 3 items per role so you would need a ratio of item granters to roles as 3:1. You need at least 2 Popups for the roles, but it’s up to you how many roles you want in your map.

Now, let’s assemble the role system. For starters, you want to go to the Lifecycle and configure these settings:

After that, go to the first popup and add these settings:

(What I mean by Description is tell the player about what gadgets and/or abilities that the player has when selecting the role.)
Do the same for the other Popup, except change these settings:

Now, change the settings of the first three item granters to this:

You can add whatever you want for the gadgets, its up to you.
Now the next three are going to look like this:

The first two for both roles can be whatever you want, however the third one must be a colored seed. You might be wondering why, and I’ll explain. This helps with Player Role Identification. So, if you have a zone in a room, and you want it so that only players who chose Role 1 have a special ability or perk there. It just helps the game identify what player chose what role.

Once you’re done, you should have something that looks like this:

Note that if you want to broadcast this to every player that joins, add a Relay with the following steps.

this is such a good guide, keep up the good work

Great Guide dude. One question though, Would it still work if I wanted less item granters per role?

You still would need at least 2, one for the item and one for the seed to help identify the player’s role in the game. If you don’t need to find a player’s role, then you don’t necessarily have to use the seed. But to answer your question, yes, you can use less than three item granters per role.
