How to make a warped wall like from ANW!

Hey guys, Kor here!

Intro

Decided I’d make a guide on something I’m trying to create in gimkit: a warped wall! I will probably make one or two of these and then make a tug on ANW with all the guides + some more ones.

This guide, we’ll have two design variations: one suggested by @Here_to_help in an old post here, and the other one created by me.

Let’s dive in :goggles: !

Guide

Variation 1, or HTH's variation

Materials

1x barrier
1x zone
1x counter

Making It

Get a barrier, and make it any color – doesn’t matter. Preferably, turn it to a 60 degree angle. like dis:

Now, grab a zone, and make it so that when a player enters the zone, it transmits on enter. Grab a counter, and make sure it increments when receiving on enter, too. (Also make it not visible in game, and have its scope set to player).
Counter Settings:

How this works is that when a player enters the zone, it increments the counter. Lastly, we also need to make the target value 4, as you have three chances to beat the ‘warped wall’, and on the fourth try, the barrier deactivates.

So the last part, under the target value section of the counter, put the channel defeat under “when target value reached”. In the barrier, make the barrier deactivate when receiving on defeat.

And that’s variation 1 on how to make a warped wall!

(Make the zone a little longer up, I just forgot to do that when taking the image).

Variation 2, or my variation

There is something else I have found deep within my tiny brain…
:brain:  :backhand_index_pointing_up:

Materials

4x barrier
3x zone
1x counter
2x wire repeaters
3x speed modifiers

Making It

Just grab a barrier, use a similar red color to what was used in Variation 1 (for exact RGB: 255, 0, 25 I think).

Now, we’re gonna need to get three zones, and place them with each barrier - plus, we’ll need three speed modifiers. I will be using wires, because it’s less confusing to beginners, but you may use channels to your discretion.

Set the first speed modifier to 0.80, the second to 0.65, and the third to 0.50. Wire each to the zones that are below them. (when player enters zone → `set player to configured speed’) Image below…

Now grab 2 wire repeaters for the first two zones. Wire the zone to the wire repeater (when player leaves zonepulse received) and then back to the zone (pulse receiveddeactivate zone). ONLY DO THIS FOR THE FIRST TWO ZONES.

For the last zone, just copy the counter system from Variation 1 (or I can put it here… no, I’m too lazy).

Final result:

While this one is more complicated, it is more accurate to real life American Ninja Warrior. If you even want to, you can add a speed boost to 2x or 3x at the very beginning.

(Make sure for both to remove borders & make the alpha [transparency] 1.00, as I forgot to do that for variation 1)

Outro

Thanks y’all for reading the guide - I enjoyed making it and I hoped you enjoyed reading it! Make sure to watch for more ANW guides soon!
