How do I make the background darker in Platformer Mode?

Hey does anybody know how to make the background tinted like black?
Like making the sky darker in platformer?

Make a big barrier tinted black across the whole view. You may need multiple. Set the barrier’s opacity to some reasonable number.

You can’t make it dark; you can spread a barrier in the background tinted black and a low alpha.
