Help with making block decay

So, with platformers becoming free a few days ago, I can finally make a Super Smash bros-like game, and I am, but I have a problem.
I have it so everyone starts with 30 dynamic stone, and if they place 2 dynamic stone down in the void, they can just stay on the blocks forever and never fall into the void, so I want a way where the blocks slowly decay and lose health overtime (they can buy more blocks but I’m not too worried about that because the highest tier block will be gold so it won’t be a problem)

Gimkit added an automatic block decay option in map settings that causes all non-grounded blocks to slowly disappear when the grounded blocks the blocks are connected to are broken.

that sounds awesome

You could have sentries attack the blocks.

I will do that, but that still doesn’t stop people from placing a block on the ground, then another on top of it, and then just replacing the block on the bottom when it gets destroyed by a bullet (would a no firing zone work?)

Don’t give them blocks

No block, no cheating, no problem @Coffee also cat squad

No fire zones don’t work on building blocks, so you can build while in a no-fire zone

hmmm then dont give them blocks

I would do that, but then it is basically knockout but with only one island, and you are able to buy more gadgets (I’m planning on making it kitchen-themed and calling it something like ¨Coffee´s Café showdown¨)

You sure that’s even possible?

Even if it is, if someone has the skill to instantly replace a ground block the moment it is destroyed, they should deserve to continue to stay in their base.

I just tested it with blocks having to be with a neighbor, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I agree with you, if they can do that, they deserve to stay.
