I think artist is within Gimkit creative
Artists are the Gimkitters[1] that are really talented in any kinds of art in GKC (Barrier art, text art, prop art, terrain art, etc)
Edit:
yeah, basically.
for example: Wywy, shadow, and mathew ↩︎
Isn’t that GKC artist? Fanartists are people who make thumbnails and that stuff right?
Edit: Oh. What’s wrong with me?
that clears up a lot.
so fanartists are the thumbnails and drawings right?
Fanartists - Someone whom falls under the catagory of a fan of something, in this case, gimkit, and draws/makes art based off said interest. Ex: Kat, Fluf, Navy, etc.
GKC Artist - Someone who makes art, inside of Gimkit Creative, such as barrier art. Ex: SirWyWy
Does thumbnail art count as a Fanartist thing?
well, I suppose, yes. Most winners last year made thumbnails, so yeah. probably.
Ok. I guess that helps my chance at being nominated.
Essentially yes. We have an initial nominations phase where we collect who yall nominated to have a chance of being in the final vote. In the final vote, participants vote for the best of whatever category.
Do you go to someone and say: I wanna run for best Fanartist or so you do something different?
Definitely not a Discord exclusive event. You just need to be a member of the Gimkit Community to participate. As of now this means the Wix, Forums, and Discord. If you’re in one of those groups you won’t be missing out! We’ll make sure that everyone has an equal opportunity to get nominated and win in the awards. We’ll also strive to make this years Gimkit Awards are as accessible and inclusive as possible.
Great! For a second I thought I was doo.med.
As long as your campaign doesn’t violate any rules in the group you’re in, feel free to campaign all you want.
Do I make posters? And what campaign are you talking about?
Isn’t advertising not allowed, or is that just for GKC-related maps?
As I’ve said, as long as your campaign doesn’t violate the rules, you can campaign all you want. Since you’re not allowed to advertise here on the forums, your campaign here may not be as effective compared to the more lenient nature of the Discord.
How do you plan to prevent cheating? (e.g. temp emails to have more votes)
@Unstable since the flags aren’t cleared, then it’ll keep closing, you’ll need a moderator (twofoursixeight) to review the flags for it to open again.
This is a thing we’re currently attempting to address. A potential solution is that it’s required to provide your username to vote or something. We don’t really have a solution though because it’s just almost impossible to figure out an anonymous and secure voting system lol.
I was thinking that one way would be to use the site Josh used for Mode Madness that makes it so only one person per IP can vote.
This is also one of the potential solutions we’re considering but just like the other solutions we’ve discussed, there are downsides. We will be finished weighing the positives and cons by the time February arrives though.
