Gimkit awards 2025- Categories, Categories, Categories

So like an escape room type thing?

I think that would go more into the GKC minigame category.

True, It kinda just sounds like a generic escape room game on second thought…

What about the ā€œImmersion Award?ā€ Which map makes the majority of users want to continue playing it?

That would be very specific. But who knows?

Wouldn’t that be technically, ā€œBest Gameā€ or something like that?

No, the game that makes the player want to play more. For example, they might loose track of time, play repeatedly, etc. There are several good games that are not as immersive as others, and I think that this would be a legitimate award.

And your highness Alien of Brown-Sugar, a lot of the categories are specific; Best Adventure, Battle Royale, Fanartist, Youtuber [1], Minigame, and Classroom game are quite specific as well.

We’ll see about that >:(… (does quizbowl count as educational content?)

So platformers are most likely not to be allowed to be nominated? Like not at all? That seems to make things more unfair, as a certain platformer got awards in the last gimkit awards.

I personally think platformers should be allowed, just no specific category for them. People like top-down maps too, I think it would be pretty fair.
I do agree that a specific category for platformers would be unfair though.

I’d like to see a category for something like ā€œmost well decorated gameā€ or ā€œbest designā€ if there hasn’t been one, although that may be a bit too specific.

Honestly, you make a good point. There’s this really good game that I want to keep playing that isn’t in the Community Picks.

Funny thing is, the community has no way to elect a community pick. They can make a map more likely to get on it by like complimenting it, but there is no direct way to vote, not on the forums, not on discord.

if this is true then they should rename the section

sooo kinda like most addictive game? like staches slope jumps, where I play once, rage quit, and then play again?

Yeah, maybe.
Not just addictive, though; Immersive (This could also count towards the best game that has the best story, resulting in playing? Immersion has duel meanings.)

noice, new gimkit awards, that;s cool (i’ve seen this topic just didn’t post in it)

not trying to minimod btw, i just want to get my thoughts on this one

people already working on maps: perfect!
i doubt this will work as you can abuse it very easily. for example, good mapmakers who’ve already finished their map can just wait til march/april to publish their map and b00m, they have a higher chance of winning (ofc the latter part isn’t guarenteed, but you [1] get my point).

(yoyo’s bio is so real)

same lol (if you mean for the gimkit awards in general, that is)

im working on 3 maps rn for it @eiqcrmeliutgwhc

Yeah it would be easy to cheese, but I still think its a good idea. Maybe best map by new creator like it has to be their first map if they wanna win

They need to keep Most Unique Battle Royale category. I’ve been working on a game for a long time :sob:.
