I do not need help (currently) on how to make mechanics
I want to make the game easily expandable and have deep lore
I mostly want the following things: lore, special mechanics(i.e combat system) , and quests, but other ideas also might be taken
What i have: there are a lot of regions, current lore: the land was once stable under the control of a king, and made the land stable, however, as time went on, resources began to be scarce, so people skirmished and began to have conflicts, the eclipse was born from the conflict, and wanted to bring disorder to the kingdom, so it engaged in prolonged warfare with the king(still fighting by the time of the game) and their conflict formed a corruptlon that caused many anomalies within the land
I just mainly need lore for expanding the above story and making side stories
Quest format:
Quest name
How you start quest
Complete description of quest
Rewards
Maybe some Divine beings that want to help you?
like for specific regions there’s a Divine
I much for the Fantasy and out of this world type of fantasy due to my love for Percy Jackson books and how the gods are in a present tense and the gods needing help from mortals
and or purely just admiring the mortals abilities leading to them helping the mortal
You character is a soldier recruit sent to Insert region name here to investigate suspicious activity. It is suspected that there are enemy forces at work. As you strive to learn more (as an undercover spy (or smth)) you realize that what is happening in insert region name here is not the work of mortals, it is the work of the paranormal…
spoopy ending
That sorta reminds me of Echoes from a game called Rain World, there are Echoes in certain regions (Metropolis, Subterranean, Shaded Citadel, etc.) and they boost your karma to karma 10
I mean, the player doesn’t have to collect evidence, they can do other stuff too.
Also, there can be multiple pieces of evidence, and the players can choose which ones to investigate.
I’m going for a Hogwarts-Legacy-type game here. You have the main quest, but you can also choose to just completely forget about that and go catch mooncalves or smth
What if that after eliminating all the bosses, in some hidden place was a portal. That portal could take you to a place where the bosses are, but they are passive. When you interact with them, they tell you how bad the place where you came from was, and that they were trying to protect themselves, and that the player ruined it. Idk really
For a side story you could do a sidequest that seems completely unrelated to the actual plot but throughout it there are secrets hinting to it being connected and it completely connects to the main plot at the very end of the side story.
(It could follow a completely unrelated character to the main storyline)
