Gadget Fire Detection

How do you detect when a gadget is fired? I had a cool idea for a mechanic in my map where if you swing a pickaxe, you get launched forward a bit, but I can’t figure out how to detect when a gadget is fired.

Life cycle- when gadget fired and wire that to whatever.
