If you’ve created a map where players’ speeds are not equal to 1 or everyone has a different speed, and you want to freeze players without causing their speed to change once they are unfrozen, this is how. It is quite simple, but when I searched for a way to do this, I couldn’t find anything, so I decided to make a guide.
Devices Required
x1 Popup
x1 Wire Repeater
x1 Trigger/Button/Something to Transmit a Channel When You Want Players To Freeze
X1 Relay (Optional)
Step 1
In the Popup, write something similar to, “You’ve been stunned!” Add a clock icon or something if you like. In the channels section, where it says, “Open Popup when receiving on,” put the channel you want to cause the player to be Freeze. I use, “StunPlayer”. Finally, (this is the most important part), under all options, change the settings so that the Popup can’t be closed by the player.
Step 2
If you want only some players to be frozen, this is when you place a relay and change its settings to affect the players you want to freeze. Next, place the Wire Repeater, and set the delay to be the amount of time that you want the player to be frozen.
Step 3
Place the button/trigger or whatever you’re using to trigger the freeze. Wire it to the Relay (or the wire repeater if you only want the triggering player to be frozen) and the Relay to the wire repeater. Then, wire the repeater to the Popup and select “on wire pulse, close Popup.” Make sure that the trigger/button transmits on the channel that opens the Popup (Stun Player) and you’re done!
How this works
When a Popup is opened, players are unable to move or fire their gadget, effectively rendering them frozen. This setup opens a Popup for a certain amount of time (freezing the player) and then closes it. This doesn’t change their speed, so you don’t have to worry about resetting their speed. Using the Relay can allow you to freeze multiple players at once, without having to keep track of each of their individual speeds.
