Fragility mechanics (one of the most underused thing.)

I know their is a guide on the sentry fragility jump but I think it had a lot more potential. @AMineRide made the sentry jump. I have more to add on to it.

Fragility is so underused , when I look up fragility guides I only found 16 guides (Not including mine). 90 percent of those guides aren’t fragility mechanics so to put fragility in the spotlight I made this guide.

First way to add on to this is the ability is to give and take away fragility at your own will. This way the player can adjust the fragility based on how far they need to go.

Fragility control system

  • First add 2 overlays.
Overlay settings

Set both overlays to a buttons.
Set one overlay text to increase and the other overlays text to decrease.

  • Add a damager and a health granter.
Damager and health granter settings

In the health granter settings set the amount to 50.
In the damagers settings set the damage amount to 50.

Now wire the health granter to the decrease overlay and the damager to the increase overlay,

In the end it looks something like this.

That’s how make a system to increase and decrease fragility at will

A cool obstacle

Cool obstacle - how to make it

(HARD to get past this obstacle) It looks easy but its hard, at least for me it is.

To make this you need to first do the part before this. (The fragility control system

  1. place a sentry on the ground.

  2. Add barrier to the left and right of the sentry. ( This is to make sure the sentry doesn’t push you sideways)

  3. Then make about like a tower with a 23 blocks height.

  4. On the tower makes a sentry , set the sentries health to 1. (In the gif on the top I made the sentry in the middle of the tower. You can do this if you would like , just make sure to make the tower even taller.)

  5. Make a barrier to the left of the tower make the barrier really really tall(This is to prevent the player from going really far away from where they need to be.

  6. Then between the really long barrier and the tower make a really thin barrier that goes from the tower to the tall barrier. (Vertical) (This is to catch the player once they complete the obstacle.

  7. Now set this barrier to not visible during beginning of game. Now wire the barrier to the sentry.(Sentry knocked out - activate barrier)

And you’re done with the obstacle.

Jump pads (Kind of)

I guess the jump pads only work if you use fragility.
But here you go.( You don’t need anything else of this guide if you want to make this.) You don’t need to do any of the parts before this.

Jump Pads

So this kind of the same as setting up the cool obstacle.
You just.

  1. place a sentry on the ground.

  2. Add barrier to the left and right of the sentry. ( This is to make sure the sentry doesn’t push you sideways)

  3. Now you just have to jump above the sentry and you get launched up.

But oh no the player doesn’t have enough fragility to jump that far.
This

  1. Just simply add a zone above the sentry and wire it to a damager.
(Player enters zone - Damage player)

Final just set the amount of damage you want depending on how high you want the player to be launched.

When the player lands where ever you want them to make sure you reset the players fragility via health granters. (This is to make sure the player can’t cheese the next jump pad / get launched to far by a sentry.

Wall scaling

bug or feature your choice

Another mechanic

Not sure if this a mechanic.
But for the guides sake I will use at as a mechanic.
If you have a high amount of Fragility.
And you get hit.
While next to a tall pillar you can do this.

conclusion

I will probably add more to this guide. If their are any questions please ask me , I will be glad to help you. If something is wrong please tell me I will fix it.

DONT UNDERESTIMATE FRAGILITY , fragility is amazing its just nobody really knows its potential and nobody really uses it that much, so its just kind of forgotten. Next time don’t underestimate fragility.

Nicely written, but it’s pretty short and needs formatting and pictures.

Ya I need to fix the formatting.
I’m probably gonna add more , so it should become longer .

You’re guide shows how to enable fragility and what trigger and doesn’t trigger fragility. Could you explain to me a little of why your guide is the same as mine , I’m a bit confused.

My bad , I didn’t read the whole thing.

How any why did this get flagged? This guide was actually interesting.

Hm. That’s a shame then.

Might’ve been for being too short or duplicate. It’s alright, when twofour gets online he’ll review it.

Through a message requesting this to be open I realize this guide was unique, but flags took the guide down so the guide’s back.

Guide is back via appeal message from author.
