Feedback on this throne room?

I’m making a civilization sim game and the castle is the main hub for technical things.
What are some things I can improve on?

Slightly messy, but decent. Try making it more organized and using FP or medieval-esque props.

Yeah, it looks a bit cluttered. Maybe spread out the things that you can interact with? In more royal areas, which I assume this castle area is, people aren’t usually this close together. Lower-class areas would be where 20 shops are each 5-6 tiles with 1 tile space between each one.

Try spreading them out so in a normal screen size you can only see at most 3-4 Gim NPCs/shopkeepers at once.

Remove the props that do not fit, like cardboard box and 3d printer

Maybe make this place larger? Especially the room in the top corner

I like it! the messy vibe fits well. maybe you could add some distressed servants trying to clean up the messy king’s stuff. also, welcome to the forums @AntLav !

I would say organization, if possible.

Looks pretty good, but I agree with them. Kinda cluttered, but clean it up and it’ll look great.

Oh, I just realized the gray is walls! Yeah, @AntLav, expand the rooms and hallways as well as spread everything out. In a castle, hallways would be like 6-8 tiles wide.

also, make the terrain straighter, cuz walls in buildings a straight
right now it looks like a cave

3D terrain would look nice for the walls. Follow this guide for a simple tutorial on how to create 3D terrain:

This guide is currently unfinished, but it provides some tips to help:

you could make the walls less irregular, add columns and banners with tinted dirt/moss on them to look like stains, and make the floor castle tile. also make it have a large hall with double doors. also give the king a PML :smiling_face_with_horns:

It’s a great start, but I would change out the boxes for stone or some other material. After all, throne rooms are usually meant for someone in charge and boxes just look cheap.

I think I saw someone say windows, but I think paintings/pictures would work better, especially since its top-down. I don’t think Gimkit has any already made pictures (I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong), so you’ll probably have to make them yourselves (just light barrier work, nothing too complicated to worry about :+1:)

I would also add bookshelf’s around, not just for books but you can also place the scrolls on one (I think?), that way you can have all the things you want and have it more organized and clean

Does this take place in modern times, but we’re just in a castle/town, or is this supposed to be medieval times.
