I plan to regularly update my game with events and updates (maybe like once a month.) What should some of the updates/events be? I will be doing a birthday one once a year.
what is the game about?
Maybe a winter storm that happens through the map and covers everything in snow, or a sand storm.
Also is this the same game from the last topic?
Changing seasons, updates following new events in the world or the forums.
(Great Paint War, hint hint)
The game is an adventure game, think an exploration game defeating bosses and unlocking stuff.
Or every season a temple opens where you have to go through multiple levels to unlock a limited time item.
You can also make a save code for them to use it after the season end.
so maybe add a new boss and a new gadget
These are really good ideas. Im gonna keep the forum open for ideas to be written. (Im gonna do most of them eventually,)
So it’s a Live Service game.
What’s a live service game?
A game that constantly gets updates to continue the game’s lifespan. Overwatch, Fortnite, etc. are Live Service games (though not all Live Service games are PvP like them, but they typically are).
Basically, some will be like bug fixes, some small item adds, but some that will happen once a month like a new boss that drops a limited time item.
But.. single-player adventures are not usually live service
Just add quests, areas, bosses until you feel like there is enough
Look the big singleplayer adventures, like elden ring, only thing they have really updated is a dlc
But since items are limited, I will have to find a way to add more with code.
How much memory have you used?
Mhm! I know, I’m not sure how this game will be once it gets published, but I’m putting my all in it. I’m gonna work on it a lot over summer break.
55% though I may have to make some stuff a bit simpler.
What about base squares… you can go to one of these and buy one… when your buy it a base pops up and you can upgrade it.
This seems interesting! Maybe instead make plots around the world? I don’t know how that would work but it’s worth a shot in the future.
You could use a vending machine, when item purchased make props visible or other items.
