Difficult Jump Ideas

I was trying to avoid making a help post…

But I need ideas for extremely difficult yet still possible jumps for my game.

They are themed around a Corrupted Forest if you would like to use props in it.

AND YES I KNOW THERE IS A WIKI. But that wiki is currently pictureless and jumps tend to rely on pictures.

Jumps where you need to time a game overlay press in order to create a platform allowing you to get across.

I can probably submit some examples tomorrow, but you can add slope jumps in a sequence so if you fail on one of them you have to restart all of them, and about what customcoaster said, I would avoid that because of how difficult it is for mobile players (like me) to do things like that in a game.

Twitching barriers
1 second jumps (the barriers deactivate in one second)
Fake barriers (no collision)
Invisible barriers
One block to one block 13 block distance between apart (it’s possible)
Like the one before but from slope to slope

You can scale props down to make it harder for the player to land on! :grin:

Tou can also make “fake” platforms. Just trun off the collision of the prop or barrier, and maybe make it a different color or tint for other duplicate props, just to hint the player that they will fall through if they jump on the platform. Hope this helps! :light_bulb::slightly_smiling_face:

  • 89o slop(e) jumps
  • yoyo-shaped jump (you can see it in the mural thingy)
  • very very narrow laser drop-jump

and don’t forget to make all of it very hard to see :D

add slope jump this will make people rage make sure to add a little platform where they can land in case the mess up :slight_smile:

if the player is laggy, uh. They can be very difficult.

You can do those freaking cool ahh jumps from Super Mario 3D Land (and I guess Galaxy 2
and 3D World) where the platforms flip after every jump.

Credits to string. How about a glitch slope jump? Where the slope deactivates whenever the player lands on it. It would reactivate when the player jumps of it.

YOU CAN DO THE FLIP PANELS FROM 3D LAND TOO (if you can’t tell Super Mario 3D Land is my childhood)


Stepping on one starts a whole line of them. The beginning ones decay while the new ones keep going.

This is a good idea and it can actually be done pretty easily [1] with a chain of channels, as long as you have enough memory available.
