Copyright questions

is any gims and images copyrighted?

@BluePrint if you use it for gimkit related things it shouldn’t be copyright but if you use it for any other purpose I think it is and can get you in trouble

I think it is @The_Pro_Of_Pixels

It should be fine as long as you follow the Four Factors of Fair Use. They are:

  • Purpose and Character of the Use:

This factor considers whether the use is for commercial purposes or for non-profit educational purposes. Transformative uses, where the new work adds something new and different, are generally favored.

  • Nature of the Copyrighted Work:

This factor looks at the creative nature of the copyrighted work, with more protection given to creative works than factual ones.

  • Amount and Substantiality of the Portion Used:

This factor considers how much of the copyrighted work was used and whether the portion taken is the “heart” of the work.

  • Effect of the Use Upon the Potential Market:

This factor examines whether the use harms the potential market for the copyrighted work or its value.

ok i will do that rn @ImAnArtist111

what about a presentation that i will show to my gifted group?

if you aren’t using it publicly you’re fine :+1:
