Cloverfield(the other game I'm working on)

I want to remake 10 Cloverfield lane where you have to do tasks and escape Howard and survive against the aliens

Okay, can you explain a little bit more? I don’t understand what you want me to do.

ok so it’s like a survival game where you get resources in a apocalypse but also have to escape a bunker

Got it. So, do you need mechanics?

This is a disturbing game. Also, I can’t help you because I have no idea of what exactly you’re talking about because I have never seen this. Sorry!

it will give u a summary online and how is it disturbing?the movie can be but my game isn’t going to be like that

Yeah, I know. And I can’t think of ideas. It won’t be disturbing, but I can’t think of stuff.

cloverfield
As a group of New Yorkers (Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman) enjoy a going-away party, little do they know that they will soon face the most terrifying night of their lives. A creature the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city.Using a handheld video camera, the friends record their struggle to survive as New York crumbles around them.
10 Cloverfield lane
After surviving a car accident, Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) wakes up to find herself in an underground bunker with two men. Howard (John Goodman) tells her that a massive chemical attack has rendered the air unbreathable, and their only hope of survival is to remain inside. Despite the comforts of home, Howard’s controlling and menacing nature makes Michelle want to escape. After taking matters into her own hands, the young woman finally discovers the truth about the outside world.
the Cloverfield paradox
Orbiting above an Earth on the brink of catastrophic energy wars, scientists test a dangerous device that could provide unlimited power but also runs the risk of creating a terrifying paradox, leaving them face-to-face with a dark alternate reality.

Maybe Chompz, Chompz Costume, Octo, and Carver Costume.

Make sure this game is appropriate for little kids. This is a bit scary tbh. :grimacing:

  1. I’m too lazy to actually reply to this, but

You probably aren’t finding a gim for this.
  2. Umm, also what exactly is this supposed to be represented by in the map and how are you implementing it?

So, I reviewed the Community Guidelines and I suggest stepping away from recreating 10 Cloverfield Lane (or is it Cloverfield?). First of all, it’s rated PG-13, so that means removing enough scary elements to get that rating down to TV Y-6 or so. Second, according to Common Sense Media, it is for ages fourteen and up. Why? Well, you all can read through that on your own.

What monster movie is appropriate? Well, there’s Monsters Inc, Hotel Transylvania, Monsters vs Aliens… whatever Super Monsters is… here’s a list.

If you can sufficiently lower the scariness of Cloverfield, then yeah, go for it. Otherwise, maybe reconsider?

I read this book a bit before, there is no way you can make this kid-rated:
1. there are deaths in the book (Kids don’t wanna see deaths)
2. the horrific monsters (You could use sentries)
3. the plotline gets really dangerous (6 year olds could have nightmares if you use the exact same plotline)
But number 1 is most important, so you might have to bend the book a bit in your game otherwise have fun

Okay, sounds good. Just making sure.

how would I be able to work the Kaiju into the game with the ships that spray toxic gas?

So, you can definitely use the sentries Toxic mentioned a little while ago for aliens, if that’s what you’re referring to.
For the ships, I’d do some barrier art! Then, copy the ship barrier art a bunch of times in a path and hide and show them every half a second, so it looks like they’re moving.
To make them spray toxic gas, I’d also use barriers for that- tint the players screen green and also add little circular green barriers animated moving down.

I found this, does it help at all?
