How would you make the levels, or the moving platforms?
probably not
I need more info.
Gtg.
Not possible due to dash mechanic being not possible ATM.
search up Celeste (the game)
you can do that or i can explain the mechanics in each level
N = def not possible
Y = maybeeeeee possible
Moves N
The character is a person named Madeline (the person in my pfp). They can dash, climb, jump, and walk. Dashing lets you dash midair in 8 directions (N NE E SE S SW W NW) or all directions if a setting is turned on. Climbing is exactly what it sounds like, though you have stamina. I dont think I have to explain walking and jumping…
Speedrunning tech
In speedrunning, theres some moves that can make you go really fast. These include, wavedash, hypers, and supers. Hypers and wavedashes are practically the same, you dash diagonally down and jump when you hit the ground. Wavedashes, you dash diagonally down midair, and hypers you dash diagonally down on the ground. To do a super, you have to dash horizontally and jump while dashing. To do extended versions, you have to jump later, or when Madelines hair turns white for a split second (indicating that you can restore your dash/madelines restored her dash) to dash again. Reverse versions you can do by dashing and jumping the opposite way.
Collectibles Y
Most levels have strawberries, which are collectibles. (theres flying variants that fly off as soon as you dash) Theres also B-Side tapes and crystal hearts. B side tapes unlock a harder version of the level your doing. Crystal hearts are another collectible, however they’re actually important in the game. (only in the extra levels)
Mechanics
Chapter 1 (Forsaken City) N
This chapters special feature are moving blocks that move on contact. They move across a set path, and can send you flying if you jump off them while they move. This also introduces something that has a lot of names, but I call them Dash Crystals. Usually, you cant dash until you touch the ground or move across screens.
Chapter 2 (Old Site) N
These are blocks that you can dash through. Its kinda hard to explain, so you can search up, “dream blocks celeste” for yourself. This chapter also introduces a new character, called Part of You/Badeline. This character mirrors your movements with a little headstart for you. Theres a block that only moves if you hit all of the switches linked to it.
Chapter 3 (Celestial Resort) N
This level has something called dust bunnies, basically moving damage orbs. Theres also a guy named Mr. Oshiro who gets really mad and charges at you to try to damage you from the left of the screen. You can jump on him to bounce off and stun him.
Chapter 4 (Golden Ridge) N
This chapter has wind and bubbles. Wind pushes you in the way its blowing. With bubbles, you can go into them. When you get into bubbles, you can set what direction it goes with arrow keys before it launches off. It doesn’t actually go that far. Theres another version, but thats for the next chapter. Its important to know that these bubbles are blue. Theres also bouncy clouds that boost you up if you jump at the right time.
Chapter 5 (Mirror Temple) N
This one introduces a new variant of the bubble, its now red! It goes forever until you dash out of it or it hits a wall or spike. This one also introduces seekers, enemies that patrol their room until they spot the player, in which they then charge at the player. You can also jump on those to bounce off them, like Mr. Oshiro (chapter 3). Remember the moving blocks in chapter 1? Well, now they’re back, expect they only move when you dash, and they go way faster. You can crush seekers with those in order to delete them. Theres also a Theo Crystal, which is Theo but hes in a crystal and you can pick him up, and throw him. With the Theo Crystal, comes a gate which you have to bring Theo to in order to unlock.
theo background
Hes an traveler from the amazing, magical kingdom of Seattle. He helps Madeline in chapter 4 by teaching her a calming technique when shes having a panic attack.
Chapter 6 (Reflection) N
This chapter introduces golden feathers, which when you touch, put you into an state where you can fly around freely. It has a time limit, and doesn’t make you immune to threats. One of the games most annoying features, the bumper, is also introduced here. When you touch it, it launches you in the opposite direction of where you hit it. Badeline is also back, as an boss that you can attack by moving into a certain range of her. When you attack, she retreats into a set position and at the end of the screen, she breaks through a wall making an hole to go through to the next screen. She can now spew lasers and pellets. In her second phase, Badeline appears to manage to be able to move blocks, like the moving blocks in chapter 1, but you dont have to touch them or dash for them to move. After coming to an agreement, Madeline accepts Badeline and gains the ability of double dashing.
Chapter 7 (Summit) N
In this chapter, the feature of checkpoints in one screen is added. (usually you have to progress to another screen for a checkpoint). The only other things are orbs that you can touch to get Badeline to boost you up.
Chapter 8 (Core (EXTRA LEVEL)) N
This level introduces a fire and ice sort of mechanic, where you can hit a switch to change between the two. Theres also a block and a moving thing that changes between fire and ice. You can’t regain your dash unless you touch a dash crystal or progress to another screen. Theres also a kind of flooding mechanic.
Fire
The moving thing will damage you, and the block will launch you. If the screen includes the flooding, ice turns into lava, which rises up.
Ice
You can jump on top of the moving thing, although it will shatter as soon as you jump on it, and it can still damage you, only if you hit it from somewhere else than the top, the block slowly falls before shattering. If the screen includes the flooding, lava turns into ice, which rises up OR sinks down. (that only happens if the screen is horizontal)
you might be able to tell i really like celeste, but i might’ve missed some stuff or explained weirdly/just straight up wrong, if you want more/correct info its prob better to just play the game, check the wiki, or watch a playthrough
tbh i dont even know why i wrote this, none of this stuff is possible, but maybe this is gonna be useful when the devs add the stuff required for this stuff into gimkit creative
First, off don’t necropost.
