So on my parkour map I want to make it where there is a respawn/checkpoint mechanic, so if you fall off a stage you respawn on it. Can someone tell me how to do this???
Either a huge laser
or a huge zone connected to a respawn device
Use the checkpoint device for, well, checkpoints
true, that works as well
Read the stuff above, use a laser or zone
Or a respawn button
[why 20 characters]
One more question. How can I make it to where they respawn if they fall on normal ground?
LASERS!!! >:D LASERS ARE A SOLUTION TO EVERYTHING!!! I’m not kidding btw. HELP
There is a checkpoint device in Devices (it looks like a star in a bubble).
After putting the location of the desired checkpoint, then add a Game Overlay Device.
Set the type to Button and name it Respawn.
Link it via a wire or channel to a respawn device.
Like everyone said, you can use lasers (just make sure to adjust damage to make sure they d1e instantly!! 200 is default for k1ll1ng them), or you can use a zone and a respawn (player enters zone > respawn player).
If you wanted them to be able to do it whenever they want to, you can use the game overlay device. Connect a respawn device via wires or channels. Kind of like the mechanic in Don’t Look Down where you press the button to answer questions, except to respawn them instead.
Building on to this if your game is purely a parkour game it looks way better if you make the max health and shield 1, set starting shield to 0, and change the laser damage to 1.
It helps keep the player playing for longer, in my opinion having lasers deal like 100000 because the creator is too lazy to do something else or lasers dealing 6767 damage are just so annoying that I just leave.
OMG YESSSSS. If you want to be able to set the max shield and health, go to “game options”, “health and shield”, then change the settings.
Also sometimes the default laser damage is 10 and they forget to change it to you have to jump a billion times to respawn lol ![]()
if you use zones make sure that you cant jump out of the range!
(thats why i use coordinates instead but now that i think about it zones work perfectly fine as well)
Yes, be sure to change the size of the zone. I personally have an insurance solution with the respawning by making sure they have a respawn button (game overlay!!!)
