Camera View Overlap

I was recently thinking about how it might be possible to escape the world border in Gimkit,
and my most recent thought is to use a camera view. This is because I think that invisible camera views and barriers are used that are even active in edit mode to block the player from escaping the map. My question is this: If I place down two overlapping camera views, which one will be used for the player (when testing in-game)? If it’s the most recently placed camera view or an ‘or’ operation on the camera views, that is perfect for testing my theory. If it’s the oldest camera view or an ‘and’ operation, that won’t work.[1][2]

  1. I think I explained it well, let me know if clarification is necessary. ↩︎

  2. I probably won’t be able to answer questions until tomorrow morning, I need to go to bed soon. ↩︎

ok i kinda see wts going on…

2 camera views overlapping create a smaller camera view iirc

So it’s like an and operation, and you can only see the overlap of the two zones?

couldn’t you have…
tested this yourself?

anyways, maybe combine with a camera point to get different results? does that change the and operation so you see even more? lemme check.

edit:

oh shoot, unretrievable camera view. dragging it in the resize screen just throws the main area out but not the whole zone, so it’s just there… forever. anyways, looking out onto the world border, i think the method ain’t possible for now, since the and operation still works

[man i’m never getting it back, am i]

Me and @G-Code549 are trying to pass the world border in top-down and probably platformer in the future, were still trying to pass top-down you want to help with it @GimGuy, @Kosm0-o, and @NoNoWahoo?

Well why do you want to escape the grasp of Gimkit Reality?

why not put a teleporter all the way out there and have it set to be tped there

because we need to find out the secret of gimkit pass the border this will help with the lore

and what beyond the border code devices plans lore?

like do you know in episode 2 of the amazing digital circus it shows the designs of characters maybe it will show future things for gimkit or maybe even more lore about the world of gimkit

I dont think theres much lore to it

Gimkit has a limit because If gimkit had infinite space it would be very laggy and the farther you went the more cursed it would be

there has to be limits at times

I think I understand what you’re saying, and that is what I tried. I managed to get the teleporter outside the world border, but I wasn’t able to actually teleport to it, and it went back in on reload, so this is my next idea.

IT WORKS. I placed a camera view that went over the edge of the world, and when I started the game and entered the camera view, I was able to see over the edge of the world, even though I couldn’t go past the edge. If we can figure out a way to make the camera view active from the edit menu, we might be able to escape the world border.
