Press the “start creative tutorial” button
since I had recently made a new gimkit account with my personal email
maybe refresh? If it doesnt work restart your device and try again.

Welcome to the forums, make sure to read the FAQ and the TOS, but yes this is usually the solution.
This has happened usually a one appears on the map first to.
ngl i read them bfore making my accnt and also i reAD a bunch so 
technically smart in forumsness
this could be the reason.
Also :
Clear cache
reload
restart (NOT SHUT DOWN, RESTART.)
Wait till tomorrow.
