If you are touching a barrier, and you walk in the direction of that barrier (so you aren’t moving), you will achieve a temporary speed boost if the barrier deactivates.

That isn’t really a bug, that’s just the server trying to keep up as it thinks the barrier is still there for a few moments before it realizes it isn’t. It happens in almost every video game on any platform.
Oh, so it’s just due to Gimkit’s strange way of handling lag.

I couldn’t find the video, but it was a big boost for speedrunners before it was patched. Someone uploaded a video on YouTube with around a 3-minute speedrun of DLD.
I think it is the same glitch, just in a different way. The reason why you slow back down is because they added something to prevent going over your designed max speed.
I think that’s a different glitch, this bug hasn’t been patched yet as far as I’m aware.
