Any ideas on improving this bossfight?

I have this boss fight right here. You fight King Gimrick, and it takes around 12 hits to beat him. It works completely well, nothing is broken, but something just seems missing from it.

Got any ideas on how to improve it?

Maybe add points of danger on certain spots of the floor, like places you can’t step on.

I like that, although thematically it wouldn’t make sense. Maybe for a future boss fight i’ll do that! This is the first boss out of 6 after all

Give him special moves, like he can fill parts of the room with posoinus gas

Make random allies of the boss appear at random times.
Make allies for the player appear at random times.

Hmm… well it would make sense since he is a king. And I set it up so knockouts give you health. Maybe I could buff his health and damage so it’s easier to lose, and have the minions be like health sources in a way

Multiple phases
Attacks like boulders falling from the sky

Yes, that would be cool! Maybe the king has different powers too, like being able to randomly teleport the player.

add invisible lasers that go on and off radomly

Improving? The big sentry… you can just do this

How to fix it put a barrier that is only active for the player and not the sentry
